Invisalign® is an invisible alternative to obtrusive braces. If you are looking for a more attractive and simpler method for straightening your teeth, visit our office today to start your treatment. Invisalign® makes having your teeth straightened a breeze by providing you with an easy to use, inconspicuous straightening system. Some commonly asked questions are below along with answers to help you learn more about our Invisalign straightening method.

Who is a good candidate for Invisalign®?

Adults are the most encouraged candidate for Invisalign® as the system was specifically created with adults in mind. We can also provide Invisalign® Teen for our older teen patients to use.

How long will the treatment last?

The Invisalign® treatment length depends on the severity of your case normally. We will cover the treatment path and treatment length with you during your appointment. In most cases, for adults treatment lasts about 12 months.

How does Invisalign® work, and is it really invisible?

A system of aligners will be created specifically for you based on molds of your teeth and a straightening plan made by our Invisalign® dentist. You will wear your aligners for at least 20 hours a day for the best results. A new aligner will be used every two weeks to progress your treatment to the next level. Your aligners will be virtually invisible. Most people will have no idea you are going through the process.

Is Invisalign® costly?

For the quality of straightening it provides, Invisalign® is priced very reasonably. Your insurance company may also help you to pay for your treatment.

When should I remove my aligner?

You should always remove your aligner for meals and snacks. Never eat with an aligner in as this could allow food to get lodged in your aligner and may encourage the spread of bacteria or decay in your teeth. You should also remove your aligner to thoroughly brush your teeth at least twice a day. During this time, you should also clean your aligner on the inside and outside with a toothbrush and lukewarm water. Never use toothpaste on your aligner as it could cause abrasion and discoloration. Keep your aligner in at all times besides these.

Will the aligner affect my speech?

When you first receive your aligner, you may notice a slight lisp in your speech. This is temporary and will disappear as soon as your mouth gets used to your aligner. No long term speech defects will occur. In fact, Invisalign® may actually improve your speech if you have an existing lisp due to misplaced teeth.

Is it safe to keep my aligner in while I sleep?

Yes, you need to keep your aligner in at least 20 hours a day. We will ensure that your aligner fits snugly and securely over your teeth. You will not have to worry about it falling out while you sleep, or even when you talk. You will be used to the aligner's presence in your mouth and may even forget you are wearing it!

We will help educate you throughout the Invisalign® process and will answer all of your important questions. You can begin your straightening process with confidence, and your treatment will end with amazing results.
